Slabs are checked for breaks and cracks. Broken slabs are either rejected outright, or the damaged section is trimmed away and the dimensions reduced accordingly.
On slabs with four square corners, 5 cm is deducted from the width and 5 cm from the length. Slabs without four square corners, or with one corner out of square, are measured to an average value.
The slabs on the front faces of each bundle are checked with a gloss meter and by visual inspection from our field team. Any slab showing waviness or matte patches is removed from the bundle or sent back to be polished again. Reference gloss values are given in the table below. If the readings fall within the reference range, the inspection moves to the next stage; if not, the affected slabs are re-polished.
Finished material is inspected against the terms agreed between the factory and you, our valued customer. A detailed field report and photographs of the selection are sent to you by e-mail.
