North Star Marble supplies Turkish travertine (in Turkish: traverten) from Denizli as slabs, cut-to-size tiles, pavers and French pattern sets. Vein cut or cross cut?
The same travertine block gives two different looks, depending on the cutting direction.
Vein cut
Cut along the layers, so the surface shows long, straight lines. Vein cut has a higher price and is chosen for prestigious projects. It is more fragile than cross cut.
Cross cut
Cut across the layers, so the surface shows a cloudy, open pattern. Cross cut is the everyday choice for floors, walls and gardens.

Light travertine (Classic Light)

Light travertine is the beige travertine of Denizli, also known as Classic Light or light beige travertine. It usually comes as a Light-Medium mix, which is the standard selection. Pure Light is harder to find and needs careful selection, so it has a higher price.

Finishes and fills
Depending on the product, travertine can be honed, polished, brushed or tumbled, and supplied filled or unfilled. For filled material we work with cement, mastic or transparent fill.
Packing, checking and shipping
Tiles and sets are packed in wooden crates for export. Before loading we check the material for tone, size and finish, and we send you photographs of the actual material before shipment. Different travertine types and products can be shipped together in one container. Prices are given FOB Izmir.
